May Day Weekend

For the second stage of the walk we stayed in Grasmere. Some in the youth hostel and some in B & Bs in the village. I stayed in the youth hostel and I can personally recommend the sticky toffe pudding, which is the best I have ever had......as light as a feather!
This was a much harder stage as we walked through the beautiful passes between the mountains. The 'A' party took the high route along the High Stile Ridge but I took the less strenous alternative beside the lake and on the forest track, passing the Black Sail hostel before a steady climb up Loft Beck before the descent to Seatoller and the welcome sight of the coach to take us back to Grasmere.
